Personal Data Protection Policy
This statement sets out the personal data protection policy (“Policy”) and practices of Happee Hearts Movement that will be followed with respect to the collection, use and disclosure of your Personal Data. This statement is provided in accordance with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (“PDPA”).
Our Commitment
Happee Hearts Movement values the privacy of the personal data you have entrusted to us and we are committed to protect your personal data in accordance with the requirements of PDPA, the Ministry of Health’s guidelines and directives, and other relevant legislation.
Collection, Use and Disclosure
The purposes for which Happee Hearts Movement collects, uses and discloses your personal data include but are not limited to: verifying your identity; sending you Happee Hearts Movement announcements; managing or terminating the employment relationship; assessing the suitability and eligibility of a prospective job candidate or a volunteer; processing and responding to inquiries and/or feedback; for research purposes; for service improvement; complying with a court order or other legal process or other statutory and/or regulatory requirements of any governmental and/or regulatory authorities; and any other purpose permitted by the applicable laws of Singapore.
Happee Hearts Movement may also collect the personal data that you knowingly and voluntarily provide, such as when you register to participate in Happee Hearts Movement‐related programmes, activities and events, or when you submit employment and volunteer applications, or making a donation etc. The additional personal data that is collected depends on the nature of the activity.
Withdrawal of Your Consent
The consent that you provide for the collection, use and disclosure of your personal data will remain valid until such time it is being withdrawn by you in writing. You may withdraw your consent and request us to stop using and/or disclosing your Personal Data for any or all of the purposes set out above by submitting your written request to our Data Protection Officer: dpo@happeehearts.com
We are obliged to advise you on the likely consequences to you if you choose to withdraw your consent for the collection, use and disclosure of your personal data in our possession.
Once your consent is withdrawn, it is our obligation to cease, and cause our data intermediaries and agents to cease, such collection, use and disclosure within reasonable notice period. As a result, we may not be able to proceed with some transactions that you have requested. The medical care and services you would receive from us shall be affected.
Data Security
While there is no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage that is 100% secure, Happee Hearts Movement strives to protect and ensure the security of your personal data from unauthorised access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal or other similar risks.
While the Happee Hearts Movement website contains links to other third party websites, this Privacy Policy does not extend to such third party websites and Happee Hearts Movement takes no responsibility for the privacy practices of these websites.
Retention of Data
Your personal data will be retained in accordance with the Ministry of Health’s guidelines on the retention of patient data. For any other personal data collected by us, we may retain for as long as it is necessary to fulfil the purpose(s) for which it was collected or as required or permitted by applicable laws.
Changes / Updates of Happee Hearts Movement Personal Data Protection Policy
As part of our efforts to ensure proper management, protection, and processing of your personal data, we will be reviewing our policies, procedures and processes from time to time and update this Policy to ensure that our standards and practices remain relevant and comply with the applicable laws and guidelines. The latest version of this Policy supersedes earlier versions and shall apply to personal data provided to us previously. We encourage you to review this page periodically to keep up to date with any changes to this Policy.
Transfers of your Personal Data
We generally do not transfer your Personal Data to countries outside of Singapore. However, if we do so, we will obtain your consent for the transfer to be made and we will take steps to ensure that your personal data continues to receive a standard of protection that is at least comparable to that provided under the PDPA.
