IDHealth is a healthcare initiative of Happee Hearts Movement, a registered charity under the Ministry of Health. We are a community-based, multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing a holistic specialist healthcare service for adults with intellectual disability (above 18 years old) and their caregivers.
Adults with intellectual disability who have health conditions that require intervention may be enrolled into our programme. In addition, caregivers may be enrolled as patients if they have health conditions that would be better managed in tandem with those of their care recipient. Reasons for referral may include poorly managed medical conditions, behaviours of concern, high levels of caregiver stress and future care planning. We do not serve children and youth under 18 years old.
IDHealth differentiates itself from other health services in its focus on addressing the healthcare needs of adults with ID and their caregivers, both as individuals and as a dyad. In this way, we are able to address the issues arising from their interdependence. We are holistic and integrated in our approach, understanding that health issues stem from multiple inter-related factors. These include physical, mental and oral health conditions, as well as psycho-emotional, communication and functional factors.
Our services are clinic and home-based. We serve patients across the island.
We are located at 600 Upper Thomson Road Blk E #01-43 Upper Thomson Community Hub, Singapore 574421.
Patients may be referred to IDHealth from other health or social service providers. They may also reach out directly to our clinic. If you are interested in IDHealth services, please contact us here.

All our services are highly subsidized. Patients pay only for doctor consultations, medication, investigations and other consumables. The first in-clinic doctor’s consultation is $50, not including medication and other consumables. There is no charge for other health services rendered by the IDHealth team. This includes home visits from our nurses, social workers and allied health professionals. Consultation fees may be claimable through CHAS and Medisave if the relevant criteria are met.
If the IDHealth team feels that other services may benefit our patients, such as physical therapy, we will partner other organisations and teams in providing these interventions. The costs for these services will be based on the individual organisation’s charges and will be means tested.
No. Patients are seen in clinic by appointment only.
The healthcare needs of persons with ID can be categorized into less complex, complex and intense groups.
IDHealth takes a 2-pronged approach towards meeting the healthcare needs of persons with ID in Singapore. The first prong involves direct clinical service provision for this population. IDHealth positions itself as a secondary healthcare service most suited to meeting the needs of patients with complex healthcare needs. Our clinical service is provided both in clinic and at home, depending on the needs of the client.
The second prong of our service model involves providing professional support to other health, social service and disability sector professionals. This support can come in the form of consultations, training programmes and development of educational material.
Our close-knit multidisciplinary team currently consists of various healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, medical social workers and allied health professionals. In addition, we work closely with many health and social service partners to meet the needs of our patients.
